Looking for a reliable steam cleaning system that keeps your house clean from nasty bacteria AND kills pesky bugs on contact?
Then a Vapamore MR-100 might be something you should invest in.
But is it effective?
Is it worth the price?
This review aims to find out.
Before we start, it’s important to remember that the only sure fire way to eliminate a bed bug problem is to get an exterminator. No single product on its own will kill them all… and you might end up making the problem worse.
Also, if you want to look at more steamers, we reviewed a few more (as well as vacuums). Might want to take a look after you’re done with this article!

SECTION 1: The Rating
When it comes to steamers, Vapamore is a brand people are starting to recognize. It’s big and yellow, and with 20+ attachments.
It’s rated to operating for 60 minutes on a full tank and produce steam up on 200+ degrees Fahrenheit killing just about everything it touches bacteria and bed bugs included.
Pest Strategies Rating
“A reliable steamer with 20+ attachments and a lifetime warranty. A good investment.“
The only thing I didn’t like about this device, was that it is heavy weighing in at 19 pounds.
Don’t expect it to be the most mobile device, although the attachments it comes with provides a solution to just about any type of scenarios you’d want to use the steamer (couch, stairs, etc).

- Great for killing off bed bugs, mites, and other small bed with extreme heat
- Includes 20+ attachments for any situation

- Need to regularly clean and lubricate (every 3 months) the equipment to maintain it for a long period of time
SECTION 3: The Key Features
Vapamore makes a lot of claims about how good the product is. This section looks at some of those key features that set it apart from other products.
#1 Non-Toxic Steam
This steamer uses… steam, which is essentially heated water and of course non-toxic. When cleaning your home, this is probably your safest option with the least risk of getting others sick.
For example, instead of using powerful cleaning solutions, or chemical insecticides, you can rely on the convenience of heat and water.
(Aside from vacuums, we’d also recommend you check out our guide on bed bug heaters for a non-toxic approach to bed bug removal.)
Bed Bug Warning
If you do think you have bed bugs, we highly recommend first consulting with a local exterminator before using sprays or any other method of bed bug control. Improper use can and will make your bed bug problem worse.
Check out our top ranked exterminators to get a couple free quotes so you can begin the removal process.
#2 Kills adult bed bugs and bed bug eggs on contact
For some folks, this might not matter, but for others, this is everything.
If you currently have a bed bug problem then you’ll know how terrible bed bugs are and how difficult it is to kill them. Steam can be a god send infiltrating every crack and crevice of your house killing on contact.
The Vapamore unit can produce heat up to 220° which is more than enough heat to kill bed bugs and their eggs. Bed bugs and their eggs die at 122° so you’ll be vaporizing them fairly quickly with this rig.
#3 60 Minute Water Tank
Vapamore comes with a 1.4 liter water tank capable of 60 minutes of non-stop use. This is great, because one full tank should be able to get you through the majority of your house (assuming you don’t live in a huge mansion).
#4 The Lifetime Warranty
Vapamore loves to brag about their warranty, and for good reason!
With warranties, companies can be fickle.
Some will provide a 90 day warranty and make you jump through hoops to redeem it if you need to.
With Vapamore, they provide a stunning lifetime warranty on the main pieces (boiler tank, heating element, and internal electronics) so long as you are the original purchaser of the device. They also offer a generous 1 year warranty on the accessories.
Keep reading for our thoughts on the warranty.
SECTION 4: The Review
When evaluating products, we use five main criteria:

- Pet and Child Safety Rating
- Overall Effectiveness
Reputable Company/Customer Service:
The Vapamore MR-100 Primo Steam Cleaning System is made by Vapamore , a company based in Scottsdale Arizona.
If you go to their website, all you’ll see are steam cleaners and steam cleaning tutorials, which we think is a great sign that this company is dedicated to their craft. They don’t do a little of everything, just steam cleaners.
On their customer service side, you’ll see that getting to the support page is pretty easy.
Their contact email and number are both listed in plain view with instructions to register your product when buying it. Make sure to do this ASAP, or you will have a hard time with any warranty claims in the future.
Vapamore offers a lifetime warranty on their boiler, internal electric parts, and the heating element. They also offer a 1-year warranty on the accessories.
Even though Vapamore has this great warranty, we had a really hard time finding anyone who successfully redeemed it. This isn’t to say that they don’t stand by their product, but it is interesting.
Something we found during our research, was that there are A LOT of ways to void your warranty probably resulting in more unhappy customers looking to vent their frustrations on the internet. To help you out, we listed out those ways down below. You can read the full user guide with all of the details listed here.
- Only use distilled water. Using hard water will void the warranty and cause failure. Here’s one we recommend.
- Never use additives such as perfumes, stain removers, or other chemicals in the water tank as they will void the warranty, cause permanent damage, and be dangerous.
- Do not return to the place of purchase for warranty or repairs. Only Vapamore is authorized to facilitate all repairs to keep the highest quality and ETL standards. Repairs or tampering by any other party will void the Warranty
- Register your product within 15 days of purchase to ensure you are entitled to your warranty.
A Note About Vapamore
At the end of the day, this steam cleaning system should be looked at as an investment in home care and possible bug removal. You should take care to read the user guide and understand how your machine works. It can be very easy to get eager and start filling up the water tank with tap water and blasting away, which will break your unit and void your warranty.
Vapamore’s steam cleaning unit doesn’t use any chemicals or additional additives to help clean your home…
Just plain old heated (distilled) water.
This is a great option for people who want to stay the natural route.
Again, make sure to only use distilled water or else you’ll risk breaking your unit and voiding the warranty.
Ease of Use:
If you’ve never used a steam cleaning unit before, it can be a little tricky. Overall, spending 10 minutes with the user guide should get you going pretty quickly.
Take a look at the below instructional video to give you an idea on how to get started with the unit.
Is This Pet and Child Safe?
Because the Vapamore uses steam we consider it to be a fairly safe solution to cleaning your home and killing bugs.
Pets and children should be alright so long as you keep the unit secure for about 15 minutes after use to avoid anyone getting hurt with steam.
As a cleaning tool, Vapamore is effective at removing dirt, grime, grease, stains, spots, smudges, and just about anything else that could be stuck to your floor.
If your goal is to kill off bed bugs or dust mites, then you’ll also be happy to know that this unit will get the job done.
With temperatures up to 200 degrees, any bed bug that meets the steam, will die.
But… the hard part here is finding all of the bugs in your house.
So long as you can pinpoint them, you’ll have no trouble killing them.

SECTION 5: Vapamore MR-100 Vs McCulloch Mc-1275
Usually in this section, we compare various products to see who wins out, but since the McCulloch and Vapamore are in such a tight race, we decided to dedicate this entire section to reviewing them side by side.
We are specifically looking at the McCulloch MC1275 and the Vapamore MR100.
Which one is better? Let’s find out.
How Does Vapamore Primo Cleaner Compare to McCulloch Mc-1275?
First off, let’s just state the obvious.
The McCulloch is a bit more affordable than the Vapamore making it a better “budget” option.
But since you might be saving money, do you lose out on features? Possibly.
For starters, the tank tends to be smaller reducing your operational time from 60 minutes with the Vapamore to about 45 minutes with the McCulloch. Depending on the final model you pick, these numbers may be different.
The Vapamore more ships with 20+ different attachments, where the McCulloch ships with 18.
The McCulloch does heat up a bit faster (8 minutes) where it takes about 11 minutes for the Vapamore unit.
Honestly… most things between these two products are the same, but the one big different is the warranty.
McCulloch’s warranty for the whole unit is 1 year whereas Vapamore’s warranty on the boiler, internal electrical, and the heating element is for life. Just make sure to register your product within 15 days of purchase.
That being said… we’re going to give the edge to Vapamore.
