Ventura Pest Control Review

Company Review

Ventura Pest Control is a family-owned and operated business that has been servicing its namesake city since 1959. The longstanding operation sits at 6566 Beene Road and offers residential and commercial pest control in Camarillo, Newbury Park, Oxnard, and Thousand Oaks. Its services include tenting for termites, bird removal, rodent exclusion, bee, wasp, yellow jacket nest removal, pest control treatments for ants, cockroaches, bed bugs, spiders, and more.

Two environmentally-friendly services are available from Ventura Pest Control to help it stand out from the pack. Its discreet yet highly effective bird netting and nesting deterrents are all authorized by humane seller Bird B Gone. In addition, there are tree oil and thermal heat treatments available for certain types of termite infestations. The company also offers its commercial clients a real-time, online tracking system to help understand where infestations occur through barcoded baits and traps.

Most reviews are positive for office staff, management, and technicians at all stages of the service loop, from scheduling inspections and proper pest control treatments to follow-up calls and final billing. People mentioned getting great service for each of the main treatments offered by Ventura Pest Control, including bird and gopher exclusion, wasp and beehive removal, termite extermination, and ant, spider, flea, and silverfish baiting and spraying. Several people also said the office staff and managers are easy to work with.

A number of customers did bring up some issues with lackadaisical inspections and treatments by technicians, who sometimes fail to check all attic and crawl spaces for infestations. Other technicians didn’t spray perimeters or provide adequate follow-up solutions when pests persisted. A few people also mentioned that the phones either go to voicemail with no return call, or they’re transferred around by staff members in the office. Some customers even experienced missed appointments.

At present, Ventura Pest Control’s Better Business Bureau profile is being updated and therefore isn’t available to view. On a more positive note, the technicians and owners alike seem willing to help find free or low-cost solutions for customers, such as talking them through the steps needed to keep pests out and providing insights on the best baits. A few customers mentioned that pricing seemed higher than area competitors, but most thought the costs were reasonable. Ventura Pest Control does offer free pest control and termite estimates, as well as online promotions and guarantees on all its work. There are also monthly and bi-monthly service plans that include free retreatments in between regularly scheduled appointments when pest infestations reoccur.

One-time treatments are also available and come with a 30-day guarantee, while rodent exclusions come with a one year guarantee. Customers by-and-large agree that the company honors these commitments and provides dependable follow-up care as promised.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices are used to ensure that the most environmentally-friendly pest control solutions are applied to help protect your children, pets, and landscape. One customer specifically stated that the technician made sure to discuss child and pet safety before beginning treatment, and no reviews cited any safety issues.

If you’re looking for a pest and rodent control company with longstanding ties to the community, environmentally-friendly termite and bird control solutions, and innovative commercial tracking services, you’ll want to give Ventura Pest Control a call. Keep in mind that some customers experienced administrative disorganization and less-than-satisfactory work quality from technicians. However, most people agree that the company offers good value for the money spent and does a thorough job eliminating any pest problems that occur.
