NW Pest Control Review

Our Overall Rating (3.8)

Company Review

NW Pest Control, owned by the Vallerand family, has been providing pest control services to every county in Massachusetts since 1975. In 1990, John Vallerand and his wife Robin took over the family business operation. They prioritized the company’s original mission statement of efficient, quality service over increased customer acquisition. NW Pest Control offers a full range of pest control solutions all across Massachusetts, including the Greater Boston area. Every potential client receives a free home inspection and estimate, and in some cases, treatment can begin the same day.

The NW Pest Control Home Care Preventative Maintenance Plan provides comprehensive pest control three times per year. They treat for common pests including:

  • Roaches
  • Ants
  • Fleas
  • Ticks
  • Bedbugs
  • Termites
  • Mosquitoes

NW Pest Control allows customers to tailor their treatment plan to what works for them. This feature is mentioned several times in the business’s online reviews, and customers mention how easy it is to customize their treatment plan to include only the pest control services they need. Wildlife is included in the list of pests NW Pest Control can eliminate, as Massachusetts and the Boston area, in particular, can witness some daring wildlife escapades. These critters will try anything to escape the winter weather and other predators. NW Pest will safely trap and remove skunks, raccoons, opossums, woodchucks, bats, flying squirrels, and birds. They also remove deceased animals.

NW Pest Control uses environmentally safe products such as BoraCare along with stronger chemicals as needed. They provide full documentation and consultation on all products used in any particular dwelling. Homeowners are also able to choose a completely eco-friendly treatment if they prefer. Doors and windows are entrances for bugs, too, so NW Pest Control gives entrances extra protection to slow access. They also treat eaves outside the home with a product to deter pests such as spiders, bees, and wasps. NW Pest Control provides commercial pest control as well. Businesses often have trouble with spiders, roaches, ants, mice, and birds that nest in the awnings and signage. NW Pest Control technicians provide ecologically safe pest and wildlife removal in accordance with state mandates.

The website for NW Pest Control showed no information on pricing or discounts, so potential clients must contact the company for pricing information. There are a few negative reviews from past customers online. Some are serious concerns over how often technicians check the live traps, and a few reviews state they waited over 24 hours before releasing trapped animals. Fortunately, good reviews greatly outweigh the bad. Customers are pleased with the service and efficiency of the treatment as well as the polite, educated staff. They are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau and have no ratings there, causing some distrust in some potential customers.

Overall, NW Pest Control is an effective pest treatment company that also removes wildlife problems. While there are some troubles with timing and customer service, the great majority of reviews reveal a trusted company with decent pricing.
