Company Review

Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control is a pest control company serving the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. It is headquartered at 1100 W Pipeline Rd, Hurst TX, 76053. It is a family-owned company established in 1991.

Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control serves both commercial and residential customers throughout the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area and offers a large variety of services. It specializes in termites, ants, bed bugs, roaches, spiders, rodents, scorpions, fleas, crickets, mice, rats, earwigs, and beetles as well as wildlife exclusion and removal. It offers a competitively priced “no contract” quarterly application as a general solution for preventative care and guarantees that its prices are the most competitive in the area. The company promises that no salesman ever comes to you, only a skilled and experienced technician.

Metro Guard’s no contract general treatment is quite attractive in an industry where service contracts with hidden fees and cancellation costs are quite typical. It also stands out for its promise of no salespeople, only technicians. Pest management is an industry where often you are getting a sales representative communicating your problem to a technician. A company committing to cutting out that middle man is very attractive to customers.

Looking at the reviews, customers seem to have mixed reactions as to whether Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control is able to deliver on its promises. There are several very positive reviews, with reviewers commenting that they have used Metro Guard for years and everything has been more than satisfactory. One reviewer remarks that the technician who arrives at their home has been their technician for over a decade, has been attentive and diligent and is a great friend of their family. The long-term consistency of these reviews from satisfied customers who have been using Metro Guard’s services for years is a strong endorsement of consistency and excellence.

On the negative side of reviews, however, one can start to see some serious issues in the consistency record of Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control. Several customers comment about unfriendly and aggressive interactions with office staff over the phone. Others talk about technicians who don’t arrive and the company denying that its technician wasn’t there. One reviewer talks about hiring them for wildlife removal, only to have them spend only 10 minutes setting one trap, charge hundreds of dollars, and never return to check the trap. Many reviews talk about different technicians arriving for service every visit, all of them being undertrained and unprofessional. Several former employees have left reviews commenting on how technicians are paid on commissions based on selling additional services. They note that they were undertrained and continually pressured to sell more to recurring customers.

Overall, the reviews of Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control are very mixed. As a company, Metro Guard attempts to set itself apart from the pack of pest management companies by offering a great product at a great price and forgoing salespeople in favor of skilled technicians.  Its reviews leave a very open question about whether it is able to deliver on these promises.  It scores a 3/5 on Yelp, a 4.7/5 on Google, and an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau.  Many satisfied customers do indicate that the company can offer a quality service at a quality price. If you choose to use Metro Guard, however, do realize that your technician is also a salesman and has financial interest in you buying more products and services rather than just being interested in you being satisfied with their work.
