Company Review

Gunter Pest & Lawn was founded in 1950 by Roy Gunter. What began as a small pest management business in Kansas City has since grown to a company with over 27 employees and over 116,000 customers. For close to 70 years, it has served Kansas City, Lawrence, and St. Joseph, Missouri.

It’s run by the same family and has maintained the same professionalism for over seven decades. Gunter Pest & Lawn is known for putting its customers first and doing everything it can to ensure properties in the region are free of pests. Find its office at 220 W. 72nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64124.

It offers both residential and commercial pest control services. It typically exterminates mosquitoes, ants, bed bugs, rodents, spiders, termites, silverfish, etc. Additional services include lawn care and sanitation.

Gunter Pest & Lawn typically uses eco-friendly baits to exterminate pests such as termites. It also uses heat treatment for bed bugs as opposed to chemical treatment. The former is more effective as it penetrates even the hard-to-reach areas and kills the bugs regardless of life stage.

Its most impressive attribute is its desire to go green. For the last three years, Gunter Pest & Lawn has invested time and resources into turning the company green. It has installed solar panels at its office, adopted eco-friendly pest treatment methods, and switched to electric cars. Gunter Pest & Lawn also decided to ditch papers and convert all their documents into electronic format. With an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, 4.6 stars on Google, and 3.5 stars on Yelp, Gunter Pest & Lawn shows it takes care of customers.

In addition to being eco-friendly, the company has professional, friendly staff. Technicians are receptive to questions and any concerns that clients might have during and after treatment. In a review, one customer commented about the staff’s friendliness, making it easy to work with them; this is among the reasons why he’s become a routine client.

Its prices are reasonable as you can pay $130 for one-time pest extermination. This plan typically suits people who don’t want to commit to a quarterly plan. A callback within six months of initial treatment will cost about $35.

A more economical alternative is the quarterly plan, which will cost $59 for the initial service and $30 every month for unlimited free callbacks plus quarterly treatments. If you prefer commercial services, you can choose biweekly, monthly, or even quarterly treatment plans.

According to its website, Gunter Pest & Lawn has had plans to go green since 2017. The target was to be 100% green by 2020. Although Gunter Pest & Lawn is not there yet, it has made great progress and could be a green company by next year. In the push to become green, it uses low-dose materials during the extermination of pests such as ants and spiders. Bed bugs are exterminated using heat instead of pesticides.

Gunter Pest & Lawn is conscious of pets, kids, and the environment. Thus, it only uses treatment plans that have no effect on pets, kids, and the environment. The idea is to exterminate the pest, not damage the surroundings. In Yelp reviews, you’ll notice that clients applaud Gunter Pest & Lawn’s concern for kids and pets.

One customer noted that the technicians were open to working according to her schedule and were courteous when she raised concerns about her children’s and pet’s safety.

You can’t go wrong with a company that has 70 years of experience handling pests. Gunter Pest & Lawn knows almost everything required to eliminate pests in an eco-friendly way. Its staff is friendly and professional; thus, you’ll have an easier time communicating your needs.
