Safari Termite & Pest Control is a small pest control company located in Florida. They were founded in January 1997, and they are locally owned and operated. They have one location in St. Augustine at 3590 Agricultural Center Dr. St. Augustine, FL 32092, and another location in Jacksonville, FL at 6454 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32216. They service clients throughout Duval, St. Johns, and Clay Counties.
They emphasize their employees’ training and expertise above anything else, as their technicians receive extensive ongoing training.
Safari Termite & Pest Control offers a Quarterly Perimeter Service where they inspect for pests every quarter, and carpenter ants, spiders, roaches, scorpions, earwigs, silverfish, centipedes, and mole crickets are guaranteed under that plan. They especially recommend that you get a treatment on the outside of your home as well.
They offer quarterly maintenance services that will help prevent future infestations. They check for pests, and identify where the pests are entering. They also offer lawn and shrub care and animal removal, as well as a guaranteed quarterly perimeter service.
There are a couple things that stick out about Safari Termite & Pest Control: the way that they offer services between quarterly treatments, and their emphasis on training their technicians to be eco-friendly and training them more over time.
For both residential and commercial clients, if you have problems with pests reappearing between quarterly treatments, Safari will treat your property again at no additional cost.In addition, Safari really prioritizes the training of their staff. All of their technicians have completed the Florida Green Industries Best Management Practices Training Program, which was certified by Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection.
Although they do not explicitly list any specific prices on their website, Safari Termite & Pest Control seems to be fairly cost-effective. While there are a decent amount of negative reviews, few of them referred to the cost of the services, and none of them state the prices of specific services.
I didn’t notice anything on Safari’s website emphasizing a focus on pet-friendliness or child-friendliness, so that is a bit unusual. However, they do repeatedly mention being eco-friendly. They are part of the Florida Pest Management Association, which seems to have an eco-friendly focus, as well as the National Pest Management Association International.
Honestly, Safari’s website had less of a focus on sustainability than any of the other companies I’ve reviewed so far, which doesn’t necessarily mean that they are less eco-friendly, but I am slightly skeptical that they are as environmentally friendly. They didn’t mention any particularly eco-friendly system or approach, so I’d be a bit more hesitant to suggest them on that front.
Unfortunately, their reviews were not great. They have a measly 1.5 stars on Yelp, out of only 7 reviews. Their reviews are better on Google Reviews, but still only hit 3.5 stars out of 87 reviews. They are not BBB accredited, and their BBB customer reviews settle out at 1 star. But their rating is still an A-.
The negative reviews seem to repeatedly emphasize poor lawn service, rude employees, and dismissive management.. The company’s long-winded responses on the review sites are accusatory, defensive, and unyielding, so I hesitate to write off the poor reviews But there are still plenty of good reviews, and most of the worst ones only cite subpar lawn service.
