Rove Pest Control is a company serving the NE United States and is based at 275 E 4th St, Ste B260, Saint Paul MN, 55101. The company offers routine commercial and home preventative treatments as well as several specialty services. Rove Pest Control was founded in 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. Rove Pest Control In 2005, Rove opened its St. Paul operation along with several other branches across the Northern Midwest.

The company’s focus is on recurring care with experienced technicians, many of whom are Associate Certified Entomologists. The company offers free inspections to potential customers. In addition to routine preventative services, it also offers intensive treatments for infestations of bed bugs, termites, and mosquitoes. 

Rove Pest Control stands out among pest control companies for a couple of reasons in particular. The large variety of pests that it treats is more comprehensive than most other companies. It has specific treatments available for ants, spiders, centipedes, box elder bugs, crickets, bed bugs, earwigs, fleas, millipedes, moles, mice, voles, rats, roaches, silverfish, ticks, wasps, beetles, and kissing bugs. One can assume this is due to the higher qualifications and experience required of the company’s technicians.  But, what do reviews from customers say about the execution of these promises?

Sadly, reviews are mixed on the actual performance of Rove Pest Control. Many reviews will readily vouch for the demonstrated experience and skill of its technicians and the results the actual service achieved. Technicians for the company are repeatedly described as “extremely communicative and helpful,” “courteous,” and “detail-oriented.” It is hard to find specific complaints about the actual execution of service from Rove’s technicians, who are, by all accounts, incredibly professional and skilled. 

Once you begin to look at customer service reviews, however, it gets a little more sordid. Rove’s reviews are riddled with repeated claims of hidden cancellation fees, difficulty canceling service, or difficulty even contacting customer service. Rove Pest Control will not do individual jobs without a contract of recurring care. Once you’ve signed that contract, it must be canceled in a very narrow window to not recur, and if canceled during the year, a hefty cancellation fee will be applied. Many reviews talk about difficulty contacting customer service or mailing or emailing forms only for customer service to claim they never received anything of the sort.

With both the low marks for customer service and the high marks for technicians’ skill level, it goes back for years. A pattern of reviews with the same theme that long likely indicates a rather systematic problem. However, knowing that there may be struggles in the customer service area can help stop some of those issues before they start. If you already know that Rove Pest Control’s technicians are often praised as high-quality experts, then some extra preparedness and shrewd contract reading could be worth it for an excellent service.

If you choose to go with Rove Pest Control, treat your technician on-site as your contact person, and try to get clear and definite answers from them to minimize the help you need to seek from customer service. It’s always a good policy when dealing with a household or business service to be as explicit as possible in instructions and when asking for clarification, especially with contracts — and Rove Pest Control seems to be no exception.
