Company Review

Preventive Pest Control deals in pest control, with customer satisfaction at the center of its core business priorities. It has been operating in the Houston area since March 31, 2002. According to its website, it has two offices in Houston. The East Houston Office is located at 12009 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, TX 77034, while the West Houston Office is in 10050 West Gulf Bank Road, Houston, TX 77040.

Preventive Pest Control (PPC) offers a comprehensive pest control service for both commercial and residential clients. Whether you have a rodent infestation, bugs, or need a more robust fix for destructive pests, PPC has a solution for you. PPC eliminates pests such as rats, mice, ants, termites, roaches, spiders, wasps, flies, ticks, and fleas.

PPC visits your premises, inspects it, and then analyzes the problem. After that, it will prescribe a course of action to remove the pest and implement superior three-barrier shield protection to stop future attacks. Its superior service involves a six-foot barrier spray around the house and a further 20 feet of granulation.

PPC is synonymous with professionalism. The company has a team of knowledgeable professionals always on call, makes calls for scheduled appointments, and provides timely and responsive service.

Additionally, if PPC sprays your premises to eliminate bugs, it will respray it for free if you spot any bugs within the next two weeks. PPC is insistent on it being completely free that one of their professionals even refused a tip insisting the entire service was free — tips included!

PPC will come out and inspect your premises and will always quote honest and reasonable prices. When the service does not meet your expectations, it will redo the service at no extra cost.

PPC takes its service seriously. One time, its technician followed an ant trail back to the nest to prevent future attacks.

However, like any business in operation for such a long time, there will be some complaints. For starters, the problems seem to start the moment you decide to cancel or ask PPC not to provide its service.

Many customers have complained that PPC will still charge you for the service if you ask their professionals not to visit. Others say even if you don’t cancel a service, PPC will not offer the service yet still bill you. Refuse to pay, and it forwards the bill to collections.

There have been instances where PPC claimed they provided a service, but the client still suffered from bug attacks. Since the client wasn’t in the house to verify, they suspect the company did nothing.

When you sign the contract, PPC will call you two or three times a day, and even if you tell their technicians not to come, they will still show up. Unfortunately, they will charge you $126 to cancel the contract.

Despite that, PPC ratings are mostly positive, with BBB giving it an A+, Yelp 3.5, and Angie’s List giving it an A, so it must be doing something right.

PPC has very reasonable and affordable pricing options. For instance, it offers an enticing termite and rodent attic entry inspection. Moreover, it has fantastic specials such as the $10 mosquito treatment and the $49 pest and $89 German cockroach cleanout services. If it fails to control the pests after multiple opportunities, PPC will give you a 100% refund on your bi-monthly fee.

PPC makes no special mention of using pet-friendly or children-safe products. However, it uses chemicals such as the Bora-Care Pre-Treatment System that does not harm the environment or water supply even though it works for more than 30 years.

Preventive Pest Control has grown in strength since its formation in 2002. Its team consists of seasoned professionals who not only eliminate pests but also go the extra step to prevent future attacks. PPC only needs to work on its dubious billing system.
