Nature’s Own Pest and Lawn Service in Austin, Texas bills itself as one of the fastest growing pest and lawn service companies in Texas. They have been in business for 15 years and have locations in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Katy, Texas. This company is owned by Mr. Frank Whittemore.
For the purpose of this review, we will be looking at the Austin, Texas location as it seems to be the headquarters for this business. Their Austin location can be found at 8711 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78757.
Nature’s Own provides a ‘pest control service’ for residential and commercial clients, however, they do not list any specific pests that they cover except for:
- Pest Control
- Animal Removal
- Lawn Services
- Bed Bugs
While the list of covered pests leaves a bit to be desired they do offer a totally organic pesticide system that bills itself as being totally ‘eco-friendly’. By doing this, Nature’s Own has really found a recipe for success. They are a pest control company that has found a specific niche that is a real attention getter.
Their eco-friendly organic pest control solutions are made from 100% plant based products and oils that are totally safe around children and pets. Their organic products are designed to attack a certain chemical called octopamine which is only found in insects. This chemical is responsible for the pest’s heart rate, metabolism, and nervous system. When these systems are attacked, the pests begin to die.
As more pest control companies seem to be turning towards these types of solutions, Nature’s Own seems to be the leader and not the follower.
Nature’s Own has no transparency however, when it comes to their pricing structure. Their website does not mention any dollar figure for any of their services which I found to be a bit lacking on their part.
On the other side of that coin, they do a good job of offering free estimates on any of their services and are adamant about their 100% satisfaction guarantee. According to several reviews on Yelp, many clients, unfortunately, have had to remind them about this guarantee.
Some clients found their free estimates to be rather pricey and were not all that happy with the results of the service versus the price that they were being charged.
Some negative reviews complained about their less than average lawn services and missed appointments. Some other negative reviews complained that the organic pesticides were useless in their situation and had no effect in controlling the unwanted pests.
Their overall rating with the BBB was at B- which was a bit surprising, and they did have several customer complaints that had been listed as unresolved. Their Yelp rating was a bit more in line with the reviews at 2.
Overall, they do seem to be a rather solid company with a niche product that turns the heads of today’s consumers looking for more organic solutions to everyday problems.
