Arete Pest Control is a small, locally owned and operated business that serves the Atlanta, GA area, as well as Utah County and Salt Lake County in Utah. The main office opened its doors five years ago and is located at 6500 McDonough Drive NW STE C1 in Norcross, GA. Although still a rather young company, Arete is highly praised for its professional and kind technicians who make clients feel valued and informed.

The company provides pest removal services for various nuisances, including ants, roaches, mosquitoes, bed bugs, fleas, earwigs, spiders, and rodents, among many others. Additionally, they offer preventative services like pest proofing and pest inspection to both residential and business properties.

Customers rave about the communication and service they receive from Arete Pest Control. The technicians go above and beyond to be friendly, informative, and respectful of client properties. One reviewer mentioned how safe she felt when technicians were working in her home. Many customers also expressed their surprise at how quickly and kindly customer service was willing to meet their needs. They promise to be the best and most knowledgeable company at eliminating the pests in your home or business, and if they can’t do it, you will be refunded the rest of your contract fees. 

Arete offers your typical pest control services on a monthly, bimonthly, and quarterly basis. They promise to return for treatment at no charge until all pests are eliminated because, as they explain on the website, pest control is a process. The company also offers a one-time pest control service for around $65 that includes one follow-up visit. This amount varies based on your specific service needs. 

The biggest customer complaints involve unintentionally signing yearly contracts during their initial service inspection. Many of these customers didn’t thoroughly read the paperwork they were signing and inadvertently signed themselves up for a year’s worth of pest control. Unfortunately, there is a $200 cancellation fee to break the contract once it has been signed. According to complaints to the BBB, Arete Pest Control is more than willing to work with customers to correct any wrongdoings. Unfortunately, it seems as though the technicians may try to convince customers to join a contract without fully explaining it to them.

In addition to these few negative reviews, there were several customers who mentioned appointment windows that came and went without a technician arriving. After receiving these poor reviews, the owner, Seth, quickly reached out and rectified the situations with the customers, and the subsequent five-star reviews convey that they were pleased.  

One Arete Pest Control reviewer claimed to have had eco-friendly options, but there is no mention on the company’s website about environmentally friendly products. They do not specifically mention child and pet-friendly products, so be sure to ask about that in your initial consultation.

Overall, Arete Pest Control is a small, locally-owned company that goes above and beyond to make its customers feel valued while promising to take care of pest problems. Unfortunately, they may also try to sneak you into a yearly contract without properly explaining it first.
