Their Fulton branch is located at 11820 W Market Pl Ste A, Fulton, MD 20759-2421. They service cities in Maryland counties such as Montgomery, Howard, Frederick, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, Carroll, Calvert, St. Mary’s, and Charles, and Virginia counties such as Arlington, Fairfax, Loudon, Prince William, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and Albemarle.
They provide services for residential and commercial properties, offering home pest control, residential bed bug control, commercial bed bug control solutions, commercial rodent control, termite control for homes, commercial termite treatments, bird control, commercial pest management, residential mosquito control, commercial mosquito treatments, backyard tick control, and ant control. Pests include – but aren’t limited to – American cockroaches, American Dog ticks, ants, bed bugs, black-legged ticks, box elder bugs, brown dog ticks, carpenter ants, carpet beetles, centipedes, cigarette beetles, clover mites, cockroaches, crickets, drug store beetles, earwigs, fleas, flies, fungus gnats, German cockroaches, Indian meal moths, ladybird beetles, Lone star ticks, mice, millipedes, mosquitos, odorous house ants, oriental cockroaches, pavement ants, rats, rodents, silverfish, spiders, springtail, stinging insects, stink bugs, termites, and ticks.
What sets American Pest apart from other companies is their additional services in “powerful viral disinfectant.” They use DSV and other materials that the EPA has determined effective against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. They’re determined to help the community feel safe under the stressful conditions plaguing the area due to the pandemic. Their disinfecting and wipe-down services can prevent and control Coronavirus contamination on work surfaces and in hard to reach areas. The advantage of occasionally incorporating their disinfectant services into deep cleaning schedules is they can cover vast areas in a short period of time. This extra service is great for large buildings, work, and full/busy households in need of extra help through the pandemic.
Prices are divided up into packages: Preferred Care Pest Control services start at $49 a month, Preferred Care Plus (Pest Control + Termite Monitoring) starts at $59 a month, Preferred Care Complete (Pest Control + Sentricon® Always Active) starts at $69 a month, and Mosquito & tick (Seasonal Mosquito & Tick Control) starts at $59 a month. Customers found prices to be a little higher than competitors but were happy with the services provided. Some had issues with billing, resulting in unexpected charges after paying in full. More specifically, some cases involved paying upfront for the year and being charged throughout the year when they weren’t supposed to.
Promotions include $125 off initial termite control services, $50 off initial pest control services, and free estimates. A problem has occurred with their promotion of “free estimates,” as customers have requested a free estimate and were given “inspection” services. This led to $100 billing and very unhappy customers. Keep in mind that inspections are for customers who don’t know the problem and need the technician to find the problem and estimate cost, while estimates are when the customer is told the potential price of a problem they are aware of.
American Pest is Green Pro certified. They also have entomologists on staff who are very proactive in developing and overseeing products to ensure environmentally safe quality solutions. Many commented on their consciousness about the environment and how to safely treat your house when you have pets/kids.
Overall, American Pest exceeds expectations in all aspects of pest control (and more) for many customers. Unfortunately, they are susceptible to occasional errors in appointment and billing communications, so pay attention to charges just in case.
